Moving Forward in 2022.

2021 is almost in the books and worrying about what you can no longer control only prevents you from moving forward. However, as you begin to think how to achieve more success in 2022, you still need to look in the rear-view mirror and think back on the things that may have gotten in your way this year. The sooner you accept the truth, the sooner you’ll realize that your real opportunity lies before you right now.

Here a few obstacles that I helped many of my clients overcome in 2021.

COVID-19

We’re going into year three of this pandemic. It’s still clearly a factor for a lot of us, but it can no longer be an excuse. We need to learn how to sell effectively despite it, not complain about it.

Time Management – Not Enough Time Spent on What’s Most Important.

One of the only things you can do to sell more is to spend more time selling and high-value activities. There are distractions at every turn, and things will constantly pop up to take your mind off the task at hand. Know what’s important and set boundaries around it. This could mean time blocking, or it could just be prioritizing your calendar on a monthly/weekly/daily basis and saying no to those urgent little things that threaten your focus.

Lack of Accountability.

Great leaders get mutual buy-in with their reps on goals and objectives and they hold their teams accountable to those numbers.  Top performers embrace accountability because they know that “numbers don’t lie but people do”.

Lack of Clarity.

If your objectives aren’t crystal clear, then how can you possibly know what your highest value activities are? Then, how can you plan for and execute them, let alone be held accountable?

May 2022 bring you fulfillment, prosperity, and joy. It’s up to you and the actions you take – or don’t take.
